Cough..Coffee..

First it was the husband, then the lil boy! Now it's me. We are all coughing!
The weather is another factor! But again I am not complaining! At times I still wonder if we are in the sunshine state!
M loves the song "Rock a bye baby on the treetop" He would ask me to sing it over and over (yup even when I am coughing). Lunch time he said, "Mom, I like this song so much. Your voice is so beautiful." My heart melted. If only he could be 4 yrs old forever! Heheheh..
When I shared that story with the husband, the H said to M in a loud voice. "Son, what did i tell you. No lying." Aswang ko talaga, patawa!
Oh..and when I gave M his bath, he had a little mug in the shower! He was trying to get the water (which was a bit warm) and then he said "Mom, this is coffee (play pretend) See it's hot! (pretneds to drink it)..And then he goes on.."Mom, coffee gives you cough right? I said "Huh..? I don't know. M then said, "Yeah they do Coffee..Cough..Coff Cough..Get it Mom?"
I laughed. Hard!
I don't know. I guess I just have to blog!
Thanks Keith for reading my stories and leaving comments huh! Me nagbabasa pa pala sa blog ko. Regards to you & Pinks. :)

Summer is here!

I never meant to have a quarterly update but from the looks of it, I have forgotten that I have a blog! Susmaryosep! Katagal ko ng walang update!
Most of you have seen me hanging out at Facebook. Facebook is too hard to resist. I heart FB. The only thing is I had to reveal my real name to a friend/blogger whom I have met online. I am sure lot of you wondered who in the world is she when I invited you to add me as your friend. "Sino sya?" Yan ang malaking tanong pagkakita nyo ng pangalan ko. Hahahahaah. I guess I have to thank my parents for that! Isinunod yan sa kalendaryo at ang sabi ng kalendaryo ay Teodora! My Lola said that my mom and my dad should follow the calendar but my mom disagreed. They compromised and mom convinced my lola that my name sounds close to the calendar name. And the rest is history! And I have so many names. Nuff said!
But if you see me, don't forget to accept my invite! I really love FB! It's a good way to keep in touch!
It's summer here in the sunshine state! Our weekends are busy with trips to the beach and what have you! Things are great, praise God!
I hope to be back soon! I still visit your blogs! And if you see me at facebook, ako talaga yun! Malayo lang talaga ang pangalan ko! Dang!
Life is good!

One Saturday Morning

Hello world! Gosh, I did not realize that I haven't been posting! I still leave my comments to my favorite blogs only to remember that I have my own blog to post my thoughts!
To start with, I am so happy for my good friend Weng who is having her first year anniversary for CafeMunchkin . It all started with the crinkles from Abby & Meeya & Weng of course. And the rest, as they say, is history!
I am so happy for Weng that I have decided to join her contest. Happy 1st birthday!Plus the fact that I want to win in the contest and get that bag..hehehhe..so here I am writing!
I looked at my old pictures and saw some pics of my little boy M who has been very influential in my cooking/baking/experimenting at my kitchen! He is the reason why I cook and why I bake! He loves to help me whenever I am in the kitchen.

So last Saturday morning, as I was about to post an entry to join the contest, M again tried his best to help me bake.

Oh, and I got this idea from marikit Tin who told me to put the banana mixture into cupcakes. That way, it was easy for M to eat them.

This blondies recipe I got from Cafemunchkin. Hindi lang kasingganda ng gawa ni Weng huh. Pero pwede na daw sabi ni M.

Yup, this all happened last Saturday. M and I baked banana cupcakes and blondies! Another bonding time!
Well, M and I also enjoyed eating them afterwards. Now, that's another story to tell!

What's up?

It has been 5 days sleeping without my boys! I saved M's jammies and I've been sniffing them like a dog! Nope, I didn't do that with H's shirt. His shirt went straight to the hamper!
School has been hectic though I do not like to talk about it. Let's not talk about school. Needless to say, I am just hanging in there. School is good!
Back to my boys' trip, M was fine in that 18 hour flight except for the last 2 hours where M got really bored and started becoming cranky! I told H to take out his toys which I have packed ! M only settled when he started playing with his Leapster.
Still, I can't wait to fly and see them on the 20th! H has been telling me all stories about my boy's adventures with the tabo! You see, he loves to mix the cold water with the hot water and splash it into his body! He quipped, "Daddy, Wow! So this how you make ligo in the Philippines" Sorry. Taglish. We try to talk to him in straight Filipino but there are times that we just don't. His recent trip to the palengke made me laugh! Poor M, he was so scared of the flies/mosquitoes. Tsk! He calls them bugs. Oh, and how he loves to be in Lola's house. When I talked to him on the phone, he said, "Guess what Mom, I am in Lola's house."
Yet, he loves the daing na bangus, the tuyo, yellow fish tuna, the mangoes, and the rest of his cousins! He loves it that he's got playmates 24x7. H said he has been sharing his toys and have been very kind with all his cousins!
This is his 3rd trip and from the looks of it, he has been enjoying it! It's nice that he gets exposed to our roots! I know that there will be a lot of explaining in the future. I'm not worried on that. I just want him to appreciate where we came from and to be with the whole family/relatives!

Hi all. Thanks marikit Tin for reminding me to update!:) (Tamaditis is on me.)
We were housesitting K's house, H's colleague. M and I (and sometimes H if his time permits) go to the community pool everyday and if it is closed, we go to pool number 2, which is the pool at the townhouse, a 3 minute drive from our place. It's good that we have pool number 3 temporarily esp. now that K's on vacation at Illinois so we have been enjoying her pool for the past 3 weeks. I had to share this clip as I cannot help but laugh (halakhak) at H's nervousness when M tries to reach for the ball in the deep part of the pool (read 6 ft).
The video ends with H paddling to go the safe zone. Malikot si M, at malakas ako humalakhak, obvious ba?

M is 3!

Forgive me as I forgot how to upload pics here at blogger! Tumatanda na ang lola! Would this work?

PICTURES

I hope so! I am trying to find the easiest way to upload my pictures and send it via email to friends and relatives and I am trying this one! If I could only have the slideshow presentation like I see on other blogs..Pano kaya yun? Help pls..If you dont see the pictures, just scroll down! Bear with me please.
Things have been sooo busy. Finals is next week. We have not been spending a single weekend at our house except last Saturday, April 19 when we had M's party! I wanted to join the LP where I had the pabitin as my entry to kwadrado but then I missed it.
Praise God M's party was a huge success! It was sunny all week long and we can almost feel summer and yet on that Saturday morning, it rained! Huhuhu..Pano na ang lechon! We had to set up a tent by the lechonan area. Still, we just felt God's love as our friends came over to spend this day and did all their best to help us! H tried to cook lechon and boy he did it! We live in a small town here in FL and when I asked one of the lechon supplier in town he said he'll charge me $250 but when it was H's turn to call him for a quote, he's now charging $450. By then H decided he will be the one to cook lechon with MJ's help. MJ had a machine which will make the lechon rotate so it will not be too tedious on H's part. H was up for the experience as it was what he called a labor of love for M (or the lechon) He searched for recipes and searched for a pig supplier as well as the kawayan!
Buzz Lightyear was M's theme and he was dressed up for the party c/o Ninang S who gave him his long sleeve shirt with matching buzz tie. Ninang S also gave him a jersey shirt so he can change when it's play time! We rented an 18ft giant wet/dry slide for the kids (and adults) Ninang S also brought her choco fountain so everyone indulged in the semi-sweet chocolate coated fruits (and chips==as some of the kids tried to dip the chips;))
M clapped his hands when he was able to blow his 3 candles..He was a picture of such innocence and happiness! He loved opening his presents! And shouts aloud when it's a toy..Looks for the next present when it's a set of clothes..(Mom shouts yehey pag damit ang regalo)
We had games like soldier hunt, pabitin, pinata! The party started at 2pm yet a lot of our guests came earlier (lunchtime). Later at night, Tito B cooked sisig which is so good it was just hard to resist! C had to rush to Publix to get beer for the boys! Would you believe our guests stayed at 12 midnight..And by 8am, our neighbors were back as they know we have leftovers for breakfast!! We did not mind their company as we treasure our friends who helped us pull this party for M! Bayanihan is still present here! If not, I don't know how we would have survived that party! Thank you Lord for great friends who made M's party an unforgettable one! For our family whom we terribly miss and sent their greetings via mails, bless them too! But I just pray that M will grow up to be a good, Godly and obedient young man! And that He will always protect M wherever he may be. Amen!

NY trip

I'm back.
Well, at least for a while! Spending time with bff I was the best! She had the most gorgeous house I've ever seen that we did not want to leave her place! It was very easy convincing H to move to NJ but then, it might take some more time! Hopefully, when I finish school which would be about 5 years from now. Bwahahahah..I'm taking it slow! Too slow..
My son had a great time flying! He was the most excited person in the whole plane! He quipped as we were about to take off.."Ohhh, mom, I'm flying!" We had him seated at the window so he could see everything! He was really brave to fly! Well, he did flew home last 2006 but he was a baby then! And we, H and I were brave to fly 18 hours with him! (Minus layovers) Did that twice in a year! ( I was breastfeeding back then..what else defines bravery:))
I leave you with a few pictures but the stories are still all bottled up in my mind!
I had a great time, but that's an understatement!
I have to unpack! And then, pack again! Buti na lang, I love long drives!
Laundry to follow! (Oh..and the story, sometime, when time permits)

Because I'm a (stage)mom!

I was tagged by Meeya to do this meme which was started by Mitch of When Silence Speaks.

Here are the Rules:

If you still keep your baby’s first 3 days photos, We would love to see them. Label them as 1st, 2nd or 3rd day (as shown below). After that, please post the most recent one, one photo will do. You can post as much as you want though. I’m sure you will realize and tell yourself “seems like yesterday”.

Day 1

I had so many pictures on day 1 but I opted not to show my face (there was one where I was really crying..as I was so thankful that God has entrusted me with this precious baby!) This was my first time to hold Miguel. A totally unforgettable experience! (All mothers out there know this feeling)

Day 2

It was fun watching him sleep, cry, eat, sleep, cry, eat! I noticed nasilaw ko sya sa flash..Sorry baby! Excited ang mommy!

Day 3

I love this sepia shot! We were about to leave the hospital when I just decided to take some more pictures and here's another fave! I told you I'm a stage mom..in the making then!

Now, my son has grown big! Time flies so fast! He will be three years old next month!

A close up shot taken last month (34 mos old)

Taken last week while we were building his swing at the backyard (see all the clutter?)

Taken yesterday beside my newly planted azaleas (balak kong mag-flower garden sa likod bahay pa rin)

Seems like yesterday! Next month, he will be 3...(singhot)
Hmmmmm...
As I was about to emote, I realized I have tons of his picture on his blog found under his birth pics -just scroll down to see the pictures (Inay, makikita nyo rin pala ako ng bagong panganak) I still have to post his 2nd birthday pics which I know I have posted somewhere (talk about backlog) and next month, I need to post his 3rd birthday pics for his BUZZ Light year party!
Still, it seems like yesterday!
If you got this far and you're a mom, please feel free to tag yourself!
Cheers!!

What's up???

I went home early from school and decided to give ourselves a break from the microwave meals! I cooked apritada! H was so thankful that I did just that as he truly, terribly misses home cooked meals! He requested that yun din ang baon nya bukas sa work!
---------------------------------------------
Sadly, M, still, has the sipon! Clear naman ang discharge but it's been so long na! He would always tell, "Mom, sipon." He wants me to give him the kleenex and wipe it from his nose! Sosyal noh! H and I had our share of sipon last week but we're now sipon-free! I wonder if it is because of the weather! Like this morning, it was raining that I had to turn off the sprinklers, real hard and by noon, wow..we're really the Sunshine state. I had to remove my jacket and my blouse (partly opened lang naman) as I was on a three layer outfit! I was tempted to go sleeveless but my gosh, I gained so much this past months! Ako ang nahihiya kahit alam ko naman na walang pumapansin sa akin dito. When I ordered my scrubs from the uniform shop, my size had to be reordered as I was extra small- short pa! Still, I am thinking when will I go back to size 2?? Maybe never..hehehehe..
---------------------------------------------
Our good neighbors R and E invited us this weekend for Superbowl! Potluck style and I was thinking of bringing calamares! H volunteered to cook something else as party starts at 4pm! He's bringing Cocktail Sausage with BBQ sauce! He'll put it in the crockpot! Easy meal ey!! The other neighbors would bring pizza, fries, fried chicken and onion rings! Nagiging americanized na ata kami! Tsk..Gone are the kare-kare, crispy pata, liempo etc! Well, I guess everyone has been so busy these days! Infact, during I's birthday about two-three weeks ago, our friends suggested that we all go to Disneyworld on M's birthday and we'll just have our party at Mc Donalds. For a while we were thinking about it until my friend S told me that the place is crowded and it is not well lighted! Plus, it will only be a party of 4 families if we decide to go there on Spring break! So, I guess, we'll just have the party here at home just like last year!
-------------------------------------------
Have a great week everyone!

Colds

Today we woke up with M having a really bad cold and a slight fever. H decided that he would stay at home in the morning while I went to school. I only had 2 subjects for today so when I went home from school at around 12pm, it's H's turn to go to work! Praise God that M is now feeling ok, no fever! H called his doctor but since M does not have any fever, he'll see him tomorrow at 2 pm! He's been in amoxicillin for the last 10 days and on the 2nd day that I gave him his antibiotic, the colds were gone! ( He has had that cold for around 8 days before I brought him to his doctor) We were surprised that he got another cold. Must be the season!
At 4pm, H arrived from work! No patients to treat! Zero income for the day. Must be the season!

Mig's room

Here's a clip to show how kalikot my boy is! Sobra!
Oh, and it will also showcase H's talent in singing the Papaya song..hehehe..
Taken last December, I will be posting a new one soon kasi I have already made some renovations on his room! Apparently, the plan was to bribe him to sleep here but I dont think M likes the idea that he'll sleep here away from us. He is perfecly fine sleeping in our room, right in the middle (parang bantay) of H and me. So, baby number 2 is not in the plan yet! Unless, M starts to sleep here..! Anyway, enjoy naman kaming katabi sya! Wag ka lang matatadyakan in the middle of your sleep! ;)

i's bday party

Today was a busy day for us! H and M went to church while I tried to study for my exams this week! Lunch time was I's 3rd party held at their house which is about 10 houses away from our house. What's nice is that I's parents planned it to be a simple party, american style daw! We had pizza, spaghetti, fried chicken, french fries, onion rings, dumplings ( kala ko ba american ) and ice cream! It was a no stress party as we all had fun! We had no games, not even goody bag (teka Ms. A, asan na nga itong goody bag) but we were all satisfied with the party. We were at their house at 12pm and went home at 7pm after eating dinner. We watched a very nice movie - omg, i can't remember the title but it was with Hillary Swank about a cult and all! We also watched Shrek 3 for the kids! How I wish we have seen the entire moview but it was impossible as M would call me at times, the kids will have a little fight, someone fell from the chair- thank god no fracture, one kid was locked inside the room etc. Riot for us parents and kids but still, we enjoyed the party!
Here's I about to blow her cake! Watch M as he tries to blow it as well. M was able to blow it a little later but too bad I ran out of memory stick..heheh..
Our pinoy neighbors/friends are all excited for the next party this April. It is M's turn to be three. Everyone had contributed their ideas as to how and when our party will be! We'll see.. We'll see..So far, I love this super simple concept, no stress whatsoever but still, we'll see, we'll see.
Happy Birthday I!

Where do I begin?

I did not think that it will take me one year to update my blog! The last post I had was a month ago (and 3 days to be exact). Whew..!So, where do I begin?
Maybe, I should start by wishing everyone a blessed 2008! I had a very good Christmas, spending time with my best friend S's family and of course, my loving husband and precious son Miguel! I hope everyone had a great Christmas as well! May we continue to reflect on God's love on us that He gave us Jesus--His birth on a manger, his humility and obedience, may we think of this all the time as we go on in our busy lives!
I have been really quiet and super contented with my life lately. Last month, I began planning our meals, and cooking them of course, and baking some treats in between! I just realized how I loved being a wife and a mom and also the "queen" and really run the household! When MIL was here, I would still plan the menu, do the groceries and all other chores and I will just tell her what to cook or what to prepare but she does all the preps for hubs only. (She never prepared my baon..hmmm..I just thought of that now) It was a good thing that when she left, I only had 2 weeks left before the fall semester ends as I had my official christmas break on Dec 14! That time, I loved it that I had to prepare 3 baon for all of us! It was fun and challenging as I had to make sure that all our lunch bags/stuff are ready before I go to bed! It was a routine I'd do over and over again! I didnt expect it to come real soon! School starts next week! Now, can I ask for an extension of my vacation? Seriously..
Hubs even had a countdown now that I am going back to school! They say that the program is tough! Hubs offered to handle all my chores so I can concentrate on my studies. I've heard that before! It never happened! I dont think it will! :)
For the last two weeks, I have been potty training my son! I need lots of patience, really! Hit or miss at times! But I think M is doing pretty well! I may just be expecting too much from him. The first 2 days were really easy as he even said he wants to go to potty even when we were shopping at Target. That, for me, was incredible! Too bad, on the 3rd day, he would say, "Mom, no potty!" I would ask him, "shall we go to the potty?" He would say "no mom!" Minutes later, he would pee on his briefs and unto my wood floors!!(Hingang malalim) Still on that stage, I would blame myself as I know and expected that it was time for him to go to the potty but I did not insist! I would just ask him to wipe the floor afterwards! He would tell me, "help me mom please!" How can I resist that?
Ok, now where do I end? I guess I need to go to bed as this has been a long day for me! Being a stay at home mom is really the toughest job in the world! Wait, I need to thaw out my chicken wings from the fridge! Sometimes, even when I'm already in bed, my mind makes a mental list of all the things that I need to do before taking my zzzz's and the list that I need to accomplish tomorrow! (Updating my blog stayed for a month in my things to do list and to post the pics is something I want to accomplish tomorrow) H says I need to shutdown my mind! Just like this laptop! But, how can a mom do that? Just how?

Answered tag-free view desktop

I got this tag from Weng few months back! The desktop freeview is Weng's assignment which had been haunting me (aside from my math homework, my laundry, my closet, M's room etc)!!Finally, I have a few spare time to show to the whole world what my computer screen looks like!! (Drumroll..)

This is my one of my fave picture of my son M showing his first two teeth taken when he was 6 months old. Sometimes I wanted to change it but then I thought this reminds me of how I enjoyed being a stay at home mom and how I loved taking care of him 24x7. Best times really! It was just me and hubs on his 1st year as mil got to stay with us when he turned two! Looking at this pic brings me so much joy! This picture also shows how M looks a lot like his dad! Our friends call M, Charlie Jr.
My screen has some of my sil's files, N files, as she used my notebook when she stayed with us last Dec-March! I haven't deleted it yet. I need to do that sometime! It has some of my A&P (Anatomy & Physiology notes) pictures which I don't think a lot of you will like! It has slides showing the parts of the digestive system of the cat, etc. At first I did not like looking at those pictures but I had no choice! I guess now I am used to it!
Hooray, I did it! I actually did post my pic! Now for the tag, here are the rules of this meme, I have to tag 5 other people. Before I do that, here are the instructions:

A. Upon receiving this tag, immediately perform a screen capture of your desktop. It is best that no icons be deleted before the screen capture so as to add to the element of fun.

You can do a screen capture by: [1] Going to your desktop and pressing the Print Scrn key (located on the right side of the F12 key). [2] Open a graphics program (like Picture Manager, Paint, or Photoshop) and do a Paste (CTRL + V). [3] If you wish, you can “edit” the image, before saving it.

B. Post the picture in your blog. You can also give a short explanation on the look of your desktop just below it if you want. You can explain why you preferred such look or why is it full of icons. Things like that.

C. Tag five of your friends and ask them to give you a Free View of their desktop as well.

D. Add your name to this list of Free Viewers with a link pointing directly to your Desktop Free View post to promote it to succeeding participants.

Now, sorry but I do not have anyone to tag. I think everyone has done this but if you haven't, please feel free to tag yourself!

My lil boy

I can sense that M misses me and I am touched by it. Whenever I try to say goodbye in the morning, he would do his best child actor award winning cry.."waaaahhh, dont go to school mommy"..(i think it turns out to be a whine after a minute....)I would tell him Mom needs to go to school but I will be back this afternoon. I would try to plan my great escape but he would still cry whenever he realizes I am gone. Whenever I came home from school, he would give me this super sweet hugs and kisses as if he had not seen me for the longest time. Whenever I try to study, he would still sit on my lap and write on my notes. I would tell him, "Mom is reading her book." Then he would say out loudly the letters in my book..S P L E E N! I think he is a bright kid though! Who knows, maybe someday, he could become a doctor and fulfill his dad's biggest dream! :) Cool thought ey..!

Miguel's lingo

M can recite the ABC's. He has been reading all the letters in my shirt, the stop sign, exit sign. He knows his body parts including heart. I taught him anatomy kasi.(Yeah right) ;) Kaaliw!
He calls me mimi, his dad, didi. Lola as wowa and my bil as nongnong for ninong. Ang jojo nya eh pronounced as joejoe..Slang ang dating. We talk to him in filipino because we want him to be able to express himself in filipino. He says "opo" when he means yes and kabog when he points to his heart.
He can say "iloveyou" in his sweetest voice. And "night" when he wants to go to sleep even in his afternoon naps. Then he will say, "nyt books, nyt..nyt.."
Tonight, we were in our bed when he tried to reach for his feet and put it on his nose. (parang baby eh laki na kaya nya) Then he said after smelling his feet, "Bahu".
Hala, who taught him that?

I finished a book

It's summer and believe it or not, I found the time to read and actually finish this book in three days! Mommies will hopefully agree with me that raising their kid is the toughest job in this world so reading a book is such a treat for me. I cannot even take a shower for more than 15 minutes. Or take my shower without my son watching me thru the glass window. Tsk.. No privacy. (At least now, I have an audience when I sing in the shower and he claps his hands whenever I'm done.)
Last Monday, I borrowed "Shopaholic and Baby" at the library when I brought my son so he can have his playtime with the books. The library had building blocks, legos, mini tables and chairs where M could scribble and draw using his crayons and his imagination. Also, I borrowed some children's books since M is so into his books lately. I need to return these books after two weeks and get a new supply.
It turned out that this book that I borrowed is really hilarious!! I never got to read any of
S. Kinsella's book
and yet I was able to relate to this one. Apparently, it is a series of books I think but still I enjoyed reading this. It is about Becky, a pregnant mom, who got her husband's ex as her ob-gyn! All those hormones all bottled up made her into an almost crazy mom to be and yet, her instincts were still right after all. That character is really funny. I do not know if I could still read Kinsella's other books. But this one drove me nuts! It is soooo funny!!!
Now, I have to read M his fave "Guess how much I love you" book. Now, this one is really my favorite. Good night!!

Swimming

My son loves to swim! That's why we're dreaming of having our own pool. But as I add up all the expenses that will go with the pool, I scrape off the idea.
It is a good thing that the community pool is just a block away. It is also a good place to meet our neighbors. Last year, we go there almost everyday. This year, we go there on weekends..
After a day's work, H and I together with M went to the pool. M now wants to swim on his own and does not want to be held. Kala mo kaya na nya. I might enroll him in swimming class. I dont know yet. Bahala na si Batman!
I was trying to get him in the video but M is so fascinated seeing himself on the video. He would say "Swimming.." but he prefers to look in the camera na lang.
Here's a clip. It was almost 7pm when we went there so kami na lang ang tao sa pool! We thought it was better, para me privacy. Maybe, masarap nga may sariling pool!

Yup, shopping time it is!!!
My son loves to shop and here's a proof! Together with his cousins and aunt N and Uncle J, he prefers the red cap. Japorms..

Bye

Proud mom, thats me. ehem..
Today, my son waved bye. And here I am ready to share it to the world.
It's been a while since I have shared a clip so hope you enjoy watching it.
