Summer is here!

I never meant to have a quarterly update but from the looks of it, I have forgotten that I have a blog! Susmaryosep! Katagal ko ng walang update!
Most of you have seen me hanging out at Facebook. Facebook is too hard to resist. I heart FB. The only thing is I had to reveal my real name to a friend/blogger whom I have met online. I am sure lot of you wondered who in the world is she when I invited you to add me as your friend. "Sino sya?" Hahahahaah. I guess I have to thank my parents for that! My Lola said that my mom and my dad should follow the calendar but my mom disagreed. They compromised and mom convinced my lola that my name sounds close to the calendar name. And the rest is history! And I have so many names. Nuff said!
But if you see me, don't forget to accept my invite! I really love FB! It's a good way to keep in touch!
It's summer here in the sunshine state! Our weekends are busy with trips to the beach and what have you! Things are great, praise God!
I hope to be back soon! I still visit your blogs! And if you see me at facebook, ako talaga yun! Malayo lang talaga ang pangalan ko! Dang!
Life is good!

To all single moms/dads--hooray!

Hello everybody! I am so happy to be back here! How I wish I could update daily like most of my blogger friends out there! Nakakainggit ang mga masisipag mag-update!
As of this writing, I am very proud of the single moms/dads out there! Hooray to those who had to take care of their kids all by themselves. Bilib ako kasi mahirap talaga pala ito. Of course, I am still impressed if it's both parents raising their kiddo at hands-on pa. You see, H had to go back to our beloved Pinas for some personal matters a week after he got here last January! All in all, almost 3 1/2 months na sya sa Pinas. Tagal noh?
So I have been alone with M for the last six weeks. Thank God I have a good friend D who takes care of M while I go to school. Seriously, babysitting is a lot expensive as compared to M going to a regular school. H and I have been looking at some schools here and have submitted one application (goodbye $500) Back to my friend D, I do not want to be an abusive friend as I know that she takes care of M really well. Besides, there are days that I had to bring M in his jammies at 530 am. Those are days when I had to be at the hospital for my clinicals and some of those grouchy days for M (especially when we had to spring forward that one hour..arrggh)
The good news is H is due to be back on Monday. I am picking him up from the airport as soon as I'm done with my clinicals.
Other than that, my books keep me busy. M keeps me busy. I love it that he can really communicate. The conversations we have are just great. I need to post on that too!
Oh, and I have read Twilight and I soooo love it! I have the other books with me. I hope to read them as soon as H gets back. He loves Twilight too! He got the dvd for me (pirated from Pinas c/o my sil..hehehe)
Wishing everyone a happy weekend! Gotta change my beddings and clean the bathroom and the rest of the house! Spring cleaning, naaahh..
Cheers!

One Saturday Morning

Hello world! Gosh, I did not realize that I haven't been posting! I still leave my comments to my favorite blogs only to remember that I have my own blog to post my thoughts!
To start with, I am so happy for my good friend Weng who is having her first year anniversary for CafeMunchkin . It all started with the crinkles from Abby & Meeya & Weng of course. And the rest, as they say, is history!
I am so happy for Weng that I have decided to join her contest. Happy 1st birthday!Plus the fact that I want to win in the contest and get that bag..hehehhe..so here I am writing!
I looked at my old pictures and saw some pics of my little boy M who has been very influential in my cooking/baking/experimenting at my kitchen! He is the reason why I cook and why I bake! He loves to help me whenever I am in the kitchen.

So last Saturday morning, as I was about to post an entry to join the contest, M again tried his best to help me bake.

Oh, and I got this idea from marikit Tin who told me to put the banana mixture into cupcakes. That way, it was easy for M to eat them.

This blondies recipe I got from Cafemunchkin.

Yup, this all happened last Saturday. M and I baked banana cupcakes and blondies! Another bonding time!
Well, M and I also enjoyed eating them afterwards. Now, that's another story to tell!

LP 42 Kahel

Merry Christmas Philippines!

All my bags are packed I am ready to go! School is over (for now) and christmas vacation starts now..Yup, my 2 week break officially begins!
Woohoo..! I have been busy packing my stuff and have been busy calling my boys. I am so excited that I get to be with them again this Sunday! It's been 2 weeks since they left me while I did my school thing. The H and the M have been all over Manila, eating at Jollibee and hanging out at Trinoma!
Tonight, I attended our christmas party! My classmates got drunk, jumped in the pool and the works. The kind that I see in the movies. Sobra, manang na ako! Ako lang ang di tumalon sa pool! Hello, ang lamig kaya nun!
Anyway, our family wishes you God's peace and love this season!
Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year!

What's up?

It has been 5 days sleeping without my boys! I saved M's jammies and I've been sniffing them like a dog! Nope, I didn't do that with H's shirt. His shirt went straight to the hamper!
School has been hectic though I do not like to talk about it. Let's not talk about school. Needless to say, I am just hanging in there. School is good!
Back to my boys' trip, M was fine in that 18 hour flight except for the last 2 hours where M got really bored and started becoming cranky! I told H to take out his toys which I have packed ! M only settled when he started playing with his Leapster.
Still, I can't wait to fly and see them on the 20th! H has been telling me all stories about my boy's adventures with the tabo! You see, he loves to mix the cold water with the hot water and splash it into his body! He quipped, "Daddy, Wow! So this how you make ligo in the Philippines" Sorry. Taglish. We try to talk to him in straight Filipino but there are times that we just don't. His recent trip to the palengke made me laugh! Poor M, he was so scared of the flies/mosquitoes. Tsk! He calls them bugs. Oh, and how he loves to be in Lola's house. When I talked to him on the phone, he said, "Guess what Mom, I am in Lola's house."
Yet, he loves the daing na bangus, the tuyo, yellow fish tuna, the mangoes, and the rest of his cousins! He loves it that he's got playmates 24x7. H said he has been sharing his toys and have been very kind with all his cousins!
This is his 3rd trip and from the looks of it, he has been enjoying it! It's nice that he gets exposed to our roots! I know that there will be a lot of explaining in the future. I'm not worried on that. I just want him to appreciate where we came from and to be with the whole family/relatives!

LP #36 - Excited!(Eksayted)

Mabuhay!

Fall break

I don't have a class tomorrow which is a very rare thing! Today, a Sunday morning, I decided to open my blog and just try to update you with what's going on! I apologize for having been absent for so long! I do go to plurk and see some of my online friends but school just has a way of making me busy! I long to see 09/09/09 which is our pinning ceremony date. I just pray that I could reach that day.

What I am really excited about is our Christmas trip to the Philippines. I got our tickets as early as July with the hope that I get a good deal with the ticket prices. I envy the husband and my son as they get to spend SIX LONG WEEKS in my beloved country! I, on the other hand, will spend my Christmas break which is a very short two weeks! I will have to miss one day in school as my return date was already booked as early as July. Yet, I am still thankful that after five long years, we get to spend Christmas in Pinas! Our friends here are also coming home! We're all very excited. The husband has started his countdown the very day we got the tickets. And it's down to less than two months now. Woohooo..!

We figured we'd go home this year (as we have been going home every two years at least, praise God, last time was October 2006 and not on a December ) as M will start school pre-K next year. We also wanted to get my father in law to come back with us. The mil misses him very much though mil just got back here last month. My fil wanted to wait till January to fly here. You see, it's been two years since we last saw him and we terribly miss him!

Of course, I am so thrilled to see my niece and siblings and the rest of the family and friendships too! Hay naku, excited talaga ako!

That's it for now! Bibingka and puto bumbong, here we come! :)

LP#28 - Luma Na

Maligayang LP!

Malalim

Hi all. Thanks marikit Tin for reminding me to update!:) (Tamaditis is on me.)
We were housesitting K's house, H's colleague. M and I (and sometimes H if his time permits) go to the community pool everyday and if it is closed, we go to pool number 2, which is the pool at the townhouse, a 3 minute drive from our place. It's good that we have pool number 3 temporarily esp. now that K's on vacation at Illinois so we have been enjoying her pool for the past 3 weeks. I had to share this clip as I cannot help but laugh (halakhak) at H's nervousness when M tries to reach for the ball in the deep part of the pool (read 6 ft).
The video ends with H paddling to go the safe zone. Malikot si M, at malakas ako humalakhak, obvious ba?

LP - Kalayaan

Crazy Sprinkler

Trying to update

Hello all! How have you been? Me??? Busy. I think everyone is though a lot of my blogger friends still update their blog. I wish I could do the same!
To recap, last May 18, our friends/neighbors from BMH had their annual summer outing. They can invite other friends to enjoy the fun in the sun at Shipwreck Island. This has been our 3rd time to join them. The entrance fee is free as well as food (burgers, hotdogs, chips, etc) Buti na lang talaga, me friendships kami. We wouldn't miss this annual event. For the last 3 years, this marks the beginning of our summer events!
Here's my boys all geared up!

We went to Shipwreck Island and our tent was by their famous wave pool. M would run everytime he heard the booming sound from the wave pool. That was hilarious for me. Anyway, almost all the pinoys who work in the hospital are present together with their families! It was a day filled with water, food and fun under the sun!

The happiest boy was of course M who enjoyed the slides, the lazy river, and all the other water rides the waterpark offers. Sulit sa kanya!

By 5 pm, we were all ready to go home as all our toddlers missed their afternoon nap. Look at what they're having a feast at! I swear I heard them say "toss pare!" They are all coke deprived so imagine their treat!

This was the week where I believe the entry for Litratong Pinoy was Tubig. I should have posted a lot of M's pics enjoying the water here at Shipwreck WATERPARK. Tamang tama sana. Should have, could have!

A week after that (twas the Memorial weekend I believe), we decided to have M enjoy the water right here at the backyard while we do our gardening thingy. Here he is enjoying the crazy sprinkler! Pang LP entry sana ulit..heheheh..

Do you know that we live 5 minutes away from the beach? So we had our annual picnic and annual outing as well last May 31st. All the pinoys in our village brought food pot luck style at St. Andrews Park . I want to take note of the yummy laing and escabeche and inihaw na bangus, (the bbq was alright and the hotdogs for kids) Busog na busog kaming lahat! Madaming natira promise!

Ninong R knew what the kids wanted so they all gathered up to have their ice candy treat!

"Can we go to the beach now pls?" asked M. I said, "Magpalamig ka muna. Eto ang juice. Mataas pa ang araw." So M sipped his juice.

"Can we go now?" asked M again. I said, "Go play in the slide/playground (beside our table) Mainit pa rin anak!".

"Can we go to the beach now?" M asked for the nth time. (Well, all the kids were asking the same thing) I said,"magpalamig ka muna jan sa taas ng puno."

By 4pm, we then went to the beach and enjoyed the waters! (It was still inside St. Andrews) It doesn't compare to Boracay or Palawan or any beach in Pinas, but still, the company made it alright!

We had lots of leftovers so we went to Ninong R's house to eat dinner and also watch Cloverfield. Grabe ang araw na ito. We started eating early morning, had a great lunch at the park, then dinner here at the M's. The kids are all tired so we went home at 10pm. Natapos din.

I finally got to post our gimiks for May. Now, I have to do our June gimiks naman. Hirap mag update. Have I mentioned I enrolled M in a swimming class? See, I got tons of pics to show!

How to Live Life

If you have 11 minutes or so, please watch this! I was deeply moved by it that's why I'm sharing it. It talks about how to live life! Prof. R. Pausch had this lecture and it's been downloaded many times. He also has his own website for any updates on his health! I am including him in my prayers! I hope you do too!

LP - Pag iisang dibdib

Mabuhay!

tag from pinky

I was tagged by Pinky early this month. I thought I've done something like this. Anyhoo, I want to do tags but sometimes I don't want to update my blog. Wow, that's one quirky thing right?

Here are the simple rules: Link to the person that tagged you. Post the rules on your blog. Share six unimportant things/habits/quirks about your self. Tag six (6) random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs. Let them know that they are tagged by leaving comments in their blog. Let your tagger know when your entry is up.

So, here it goes...

6 Quirky Things about me:

1. I don't eat vegetables. Well, I've been trying to eat some greens but I just can't do it. I've been trying to cook steamed veggies so I'd be forced to eat them this summer. Hope it works.

2. I don't drink coffee. I made my dad's coffee when I was still living in his house every single day and I never tried it. When I got married, I had to prepare H's cup daily as well. I never got hooked on coffee. Even though I smell the aroma, daily.

3. I update my blog but sometimes I don't post/publish it.

4. I yawn unintentionally when I exercise. Doing the elliptical or treadmill makes me sleepy. H thinks that's ultra super weird!

5. I refuse gifts from H even when he lets me buy nice clothes, bags, etc. I feel sayang ang pera! (Yeah right) My girlfriends think that's super dooper weird. Once, he bought a Coach bag for me for Christmas and I returned it because I felt I already have lots of bags. Although months later, I bought a bag and he said he's glad that I finally bought one. I should remember the mantra, "A lady can never have enough purses" (or shoes..)

6. I love to snorkel but I do not know how to swim! I have floaters when I snorkel. Last summer, my school had swimming lessons so I enrolled for 2 weeks. I just don't know if I still have the skill as I haven't gone swimming yet this year. We go to the community pool here in the village but I just watch M play and splash water.

Yehey ulit, another tag done. (clap my hands here) I still have to do Meeya and Nell's tag though.
Have fun doing this tag guys! You're it when you read this and have not done it!
